During the middle session, regional groups will discuss and draft a new preamble. The program will conclude with the sharing of these preambles and the reaching of consensus on a draft preamble.
Following registration, pre-reading materials, a draft program and a weblink to support participation will be communicated to the school contact.
Students studying Humanities and Social Science subjects are well placed to participate in the convention.
From each school team, one student can nominate to be a delegate to the NSCC held each year in March. Each candidate will present a three-minute speech on a constitutional issue.
Is it time to change the preamble to the Australian Constitution? What should a new preamble say? As a context for your argument, consider our history, our aspirations and the values that bring us together.
Participating students will elect Queensland's delegates for the NSCC.
Note for 2021, the non-state school contribution fee will not be charged as the General convention will be online.
