Exploring our interconnected world
How Australia’s international legal obligations shape Australian law and government policies, including in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (ACHCK093)
SEAQ has had an enquiry about what resources are available for teaching Civics and Citizenship for Year 10.
Civics and Citizenship curriculum was endorsed only at the end of last year and so publishers probably have not had time to develop any texts yet and the QCAA has no advice currently but they say advice and guidelines will becoming soon.
Here are some ideas .
This Jacaranda Wiley book may be of interest- http://www.jaconline.com.au/page/product/Civics-Citizenship-Alive-10-Australian-Curriculum-Edition-eBookPLUS-Online-Purchase/isbn13=9780730314301 . This company sells text books and digital books aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Also SEAQ has set up a page of Civics and Citizenship resource links, http://www.seaq.org.au/Civics-and-Citizenship-Website-Resources and a page of Year 10 resource links, http://www.seaq.org.au/Year-10-Classroom-Resources, which may be helpful but you need to join SEAQ to access those pages.
Another source of resources would be the EQ C2C materials available for schools through Scootle.
If teachers do know of other resources for teaching year 10, C&C sharing these would be most appreciated via either our blog, twitter https://twitter.com/SeaqQld using #Year10CivicsandCitizenship facebook https://www.facebook.com/SeaqQld or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
