SEAQ Annual General Meeting

SEAQ wishes to invite all of our members to the Annual General Meeting being held on  Thursday 14 March at the Albion Peace Centre. Drinks and nibbles at 5pm. Guest speaker at 5.30pm and the meeting will begin at 6pm.

Our guest speaker will be Dr Deborah Henderson from QUT. Title: What are the teachers saying?  Implementing the new history curriculum. (See below)

SEAQ Committee nomination and Proxy forms will be emailed to all members.

SEAQ members are welcome to nominate for positions on our Committee.

Description: In this session Dr Deborah Henderson will refer to the some of the insights she has gained from working with primary and secondary teachers as they prepare for the implementation of the Australian Curriculum: History. She will also explore the potential for cross-disciplinary and integrated learning between the most recent version of the curriculum, the teaching of Civics and Citizenship and some of the General Capabilities.

Biography: Deborah Henderson is an Associate Professor in the School of Curriculum in the Faculty of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).  She is a member of the ACARA Advisory Panel for Civics and Citizenship and member of the Australian Curriculum Studies Association of Australia’s (ACSA) Executive, and a member of SEAQ.
