   SEAQ Civics and Citizenship Conference                                                   Conference Program

This conference is for all teachers of Civics and Citizenship, primary and/or secondary. This subject must be implemented by schools by the end of 2020 (and at least to the end of Year 8 for Education Queensland schools. The conference title is Preparing Active Citizens for the Future. It has three themes: Building respect; Building responsibility; and Making decisions: strategies for forging respect and responsibility through civil discussion. The last session of the conference puts a focus on the Rationale for Civics and Citizenship and the requirement for discussion of social issues in the Achievement StandardAbout the locationNorth Lakes is accessible from the southern side of Brisbane via the Gateway Motorway and the Bruce Highway. Ipswich and western suburbs have a choice of Gympie Road or moving over to the Motorway. It is also very accessible to Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast areas.
