SCEAA Civics and Citizenship Curriculum Awards
SCEAA invites teachers & preservice teachers to submit original sequences of lessons/units of work which outline good practice in civics and citizenship teaching and active citizenship. 12 awards of $350 are available for successful submissions from both primary and secondary schools which will be published on the SCEAA website.

The United Nations General Assembly has declared 2019 the International Year of Indigenous Languages (IY2019) to raise awareness of the crucial role languages play in people’s daily lives.
Make our teaching as relevant as possible to students' lives. One way to do this is to recognise special days that are important for our society. To mark these days as important, many schools undertake ceremonies or actions that allow students to act out their citizenship role.
